Product Code OSM969

Original Boxed Set of four Drinking Glasses produced in England circa 1963/64 by Joseph Lang & Company of London.

Glasses  PRISTINE MINT!!! Almost certainly unused. The colour transfers of the Beatles images and more importantly the gold rims are perfect with absolutely no fading, wear or loss of colour.

Box  Measures approx 15.5" long x 6.25" wide x 3" deep. Fair to Good condition. Guaranteed original 1960s (beware of modern day reproductions). There is wear & tear, discolouration and staining throughout. It was originally white, but has discoloured to an off white light brown/yellow throughout, caused by a combination of natural ageing, foxing, staining, damp and water. Some of the blue ink in the word 'Beatles' on the hinged lid of the box has faded and slightly run into the white surface. The hinged lid opens and stands up behind the glasses for display, and  is completely attached to the main body.  The box is completely intact with all parts and flaps firmly attached. The inner tray (which sits loose inside the box) with flaps to hold the glasses firmly in place is complete and, apart from a small stained area, has in the main retained the original white colour.  There are several very small indentations/holes on the surfaces of the box (which is corrugated card), but none go right through to the other side. The extreme edges of the lid have some lifting and curling of the white surface from the corrugation beneath. The only splits are to the two short edges/seams on the front of the box (left and right), but are mainly to the top white surface and not to the corrugation beneath. The exception is a very small (approx 10mm) split on the left edge at the very top. The original shop retail price of 14/6 (fourteen shillings and sixpence) is written in blue ballpoint on the bottom of the box, so not cheap when originally purchased if you consider that the typical entrance fee to a Beatles concert in the UK around this time was about 7/6 to 10/-
